So has it really been since February that I've updated everything? Ay yi yi. Where do I even begin? I guess I'll go month by month!
MARCH!
Avery turned 1 and a half this month! She weighed in at 25lbs 5oz and 31.5 inches long! She is so full of spunk and personality. Each month her personality comes out more & more! Her new favorite this month was "ummm." Every question you asked her was followed with "ummmm..." then her response lol! This month we unfortunately had to find Sydney another new home, again :( She was starting to lash out again and pee everywhere. It kind of reinforced why we wanted to find her a home in the first place, even if it went terribly wrong. This time, we found her a PERFECT home and I'm 100% confident in that decision. She is currently out on a farm in the midwest with an elderly couple. They currently have no other dogs but have had dachshunds their entire life, so they will spoil her rotten. Here are some pictures from this month.

APRIL!
This month was fun with little lady. She turned 19 months old and apparently that age brings a whole lot of attitude with it! This month she discovered the love of the word "no." She also learned the meaning of "please." I guess they kind of go hand in hand because when I would ask her to do something, she'd say no, but if I said please, she'd say ok and do it. LOL I love her. She also learned the hilarious phrase WOOP WOOP! You can thank her daddy for that one. She shot up in height this month (growth spurt) and started hitting her poor little head on things she's never hit it on before, aka the kitchen table. That was a learning curve. She also graduated from the high chair to the booster seat and LOVES to eat like a big girl at our kitchen bar. This month Matt installed fancy new bookshelves in her bedroom. He attached crown molding to the wall, genius! It looks so cute in there. Only downfall is that now during nap & bedtime, Avery loves to get out of bed and take every book off she can. Easter was this month too. Last year she really wasn't old enough to know what was going on. This year was much different. She tore into her Easter basket and squealed with excitement when she found a bubble machine, new Scentsy buddy, and lots of stickers. We hid eggs in the backyard and she loved finding them and putting them in her basket. Here are some pictures!
MAY!
20 months old this month! This month was filled with lots of playing outside, pools, and chalk! The weather was HOT but gorgeous and Avery loved playing in her new sprinkler mat and baby pool. She's such a little water baby. We also discovered the fun that is homemade play dough!
JUNE!
21 months old! This was the month of our vacation! It was 2 weeks long and glorious. We spent the first week up in Richmond visiting Matt's family. We spent lots of time with his sister, mom, and the extended family. We visited the Marine Corps Museum, Busch Gardens, Water Country, King's Dominion, Children's Museum, and the beach! Travelling with Avery is always a challenge because she basically refuses to sleep at all when we're not at home, but she actually did pretty good on this trip. She slept relatively well in spite of the massive storms we had what seemed like every night causing us to lose power. The second week we spent in Greensboro with my mom. My mom recently had surgery on her neck and wasn't able to pick Avery up which sucked :( It was so good to see her and my brother (and the rest of my family) though. Can't ever get enough family time! We also had Avery's first haircut this month too. I forgot to get a lock of hair :( but I did get a ton of pictures :) This month we also celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on the 23rd! Can't believe it's been 6 years since that day! We also celebrated Matt's 26th birthday on the 29th. We got to go out to eat at Cheesecake Factory for our anniversary and see a movie (in theatres!).
JULY!
22 months old! This month Avery learned to sing songs and actually keep tune pretty darn well! She also learned the word GEEZ! and uses it accordingly. Fun. This month marked tons of house problems for us. It's been a battle. We noticed everytime it would rain our back door AND back window would leak in water. By the time we realized it, the entire dining room was flooded again just like last summer after hurricane Irene. This was clearly a building issue and the builders were NOT easy to work with. It took us weeks to get it right and lots of phone calls. Very frustrating. Also, about this same time, our sump pump completely quit working. After calling roto rooter out and paying them $1000 to replace our entire sump pump that was completely fried (after 3 years of use), the problems still wasn't fixed. Had to get an electrician out here to figure out that the wiring to the sump pump was done completely wrong. Yet again another builder defect. SO FRUSTRATING. Since we've owned our house 3 years now (in October) most of our warranties have expired. So basically we're stuck fixing major problems to this house that were not ever done right to begin with.
I am going to post August's updates in a new post, since it's August now :)
